JIC Venture Growth Investments has made an additional investment in Turing Inc. (Turing) through its JIC Venture Growth Fund 2.
Turing is a startup engaged in the development of fully autonomous driving technology. The company is developing an end-to-end (E2E) autonomous driving AI that performs environmental recognition, route planning, and driving control within a single AI system, together with a large-scale foundation model that can understand human social norms, background, and context. By integrating these technologies, Turing aims to realize fully autonomous driving in which vehicles operate on behalf of humans under any conditions.
The purpose of this investment is to support the technological development of E2E-based autonomous driving systems and to contribute to strengthening industrial competitiveness in the AI field. The advancement of this technology is expected to address social challenges such as reducing traffic accidents, improving transportation efficiency, and enhancing convenience, thereby contributing to the realization of a next-generation mobility society.
The funds from this investment will be used to expand the company's computing infrastructure, strengthen its organizational capabilities for social implementation, and recruit additional machine learning engineers to accelerate these efforts. Turing will continue to reinforce both its research and business development activities toward achieving and realizing fully autonomous driving technology originating from Japan.
