JIC Venture Growth Investments has invested in RoboTruck Inc. (RoboTruck) through its JIC Venture Growth Fund 2.

RoboTruck is a startup developing cutting edge autonomous driving technology for trucks, with the mission of addressing Japan’s “2024 logistics problem.”

‍

Logistics is an essential infrastructure that underpins daily life, yet the industry faces serious challenges, including a shortage of truck drivers and low operational efficiency. By developing and operating autonomous trucks equipped with advanced AI-driven perception and decision-making capabilities, along with robust redundant systems, RoboTruck aims to dramatically enhance transport efficiency and fundamentally resolve labor shortages in logistics.

Although founded in 2024, the company has already been selected for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s program “Support for the Development and Demonstration of Autonomous Driving to Promote Mobility DX.” In February 2025, RoboTruck successfully completed a 100-kilometer Level 4 equivalent test drive on the Shin-Tomei Expressway between Surugawan-Numazu SA and Hamamatsu SA.

With this investment, RoboTruck will further accelerate the development of autonomous driving technology for trucks, strengthen its organizational structure, and build collaborative frameworks with business partners, thereby advancing efforts toward the social implementation of autonomous trucks.
