JIC Venture Growth Investments (VGI) has acquiredthe share in NearMe Inc. (NearMe) through its JIC Venture Growth Fund 1 (VGF1).

NearMe aims to contribute to regional revitalizationby matching all the “mottainai” of daily life with local assets and people'sneeds, and by providing a platform to realize a sustainable and vibrant future.NearMe is currently developing an AI-powered "Airport Shuttle" thatwill provide inexpensive "door-to-door" service to destinations by“ridepooling” of sharing existing cabs, with a focus on airport transfers.

The significance of this investment is not only topromote DX in the cab industry through NearMe to improve worker productivityand reduce environmental impact by increasing cab utilization rates, but alsoto contribute to regional revitalization by solving local transportation andmobility issues. Recently, the company has been working with local governments,and hopes that in the future Near     Mewill grow to become the “fourth public transportation system” after trains,buses, and cabs.

The additional investment will further strengthenNearMe business foundation and further accelerate the development of AirportShuttle, thereby supporting to revitalize the cab industry as a whole andpromote solutions to the mobility issues facing Japanese society.
