JIC Venture Growth Investments (VGI) has invested in Instalimb Inc. (Instalimb), through its JIC Venture Growth Fund 2 (VGF2).

Producing prosthetics and orthotics requires skillful technique as craftsmanship and analog manufacturing process with a huge cost for the equipment. With this reason, for example, a general prosthetic leg is very expensive, ranging from 2,000 USD to 7,000 USD in estimation. Therefore, many people worldwide who have lost a leg due to illness or an accident, have had to put up with their disability as they cannot afford prostheses, which tend to be high priced.

Instalimb utilizes unprecedented 3D-CAD, 3D printing and machine learning (AI) technology to create an affordable and high-quality 3D printed prosthetics, orthotics and deliver all over the world. This new technology can make the equipment cost and the product price down by approximately 1/10 the conventional ones, and the delivery time can become shorter.Instalimb has been manufacturing and selling low-cost below knee prosthesis in the Philippines since 2019 and in India since 2022, and already has more than 2,800 users.Instalimb has been increase production and expand its sales routes, sales increasing.

We expect that the widespread use of Instalimb's prostheses, particularly in developing countries, will contribute to solving the social issues of prosthetic limbs not being available to people who need them, and the creation of new industries.

Through this investment, Instalimb plans to promote the expansion of its prosthetic product line and further expand its business in the Philippines and India. VGI will support Instalimbto accelerate their research and development as well as business operations, with the goal of the company to become a model case for a globally recognized deep tech startup from Japan.
